Shrine Pass is a driveable mountaintop engagement photo location that features epic views, summer wildflowers, evergreen trees in a quiet environment.
Not to be mistaken with Vail Pass, Shrine Pass is a wonderful location for engagement photos.
For the easy option you can just drive a little over tw0 miles up the dirt road from I-70 to the trailhead. Here you’ll find views of the Tenmile Range, open meadows and lush forrest. There is even a outhouse at the parking lot.
If you’re up for an adventure, the 4-mile out and back hike up Shrine Ridge will reward you with lush meadows and expansive views of the Holy Cross Wilderness and Gore Range. The area is also known for being one of the best locations for wildflowers in the state. Typical peak season for the wildflowers here is late July to early August, depending on snowpack.
